When is MS Slugfest?
MS Slugfest 2013 will take place Saturday, August 10 from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

How do I form a team?
Teams are comprised of up to 15 team members. This is a co-ed, 48-team, 16-inch softball tournament. Players must be 18 to play. You can form your team from anywhere - your company, your friends and family, your softball league, your neighborhood. All skill levels are welcome to compete.
Will there be food?
Yes, and plenty of it. All players will be treated to a catered lunch from, as well as coupons to local establishments.
What is the Home Run Derby?
During lunch, the tournament breaks for a special Home Run Derby competition. Participants make an additional donation to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society in order to compete. For additional information, Contact Us.
What is the Corporate Village?
The MS Slugfest corporate village of Chicago area businesses offers product samples, demostrations and information. Teams were encouraged to join the corporate village with their own team tent to hang out in between games. Where does the money go?
Your money helps the 20,000 people and their families affected by MS in Illinois and helps fund national research. There are numerous research programs happening in Illinois. Your money also helps with fundraising costs, administrative costs, and public and professional education.
Who sponsors me?
Anyone can sponsor you. Participants can sponsor themselves or ask co-workers, friends, neighbors, local businesses and family members. Many companies sponsor their employees; be sure to ask if your company offers a matching gift program.
How do I sponsor someone online?
You can sponsor someone who’s participating or volunteering through our website. Search for a participant’s name and click on it. To make a general donation, visit the Donations Section and click on General Donation.
People have asked me for a receipt. What should I do?
Your sponsors should donate online. If you receive offline donations, please contact us to request printed receipts that you can provide to your donors. Please bear in mind it costs the National MS Society less money if you do all of your fundraising online.
Who do I make checks payable to?
You should do all of your fundraising online. If you cannot do so, please make checks payable to: National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
Where do I send my pledge money?
Your sponsors should donate online. If you receive offline donations, you can mail them at any time to:

Please make checks payable to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and clearly indicate your name and MS Slugfest on the check or an attached note.
What is the fundraising deadline for prizes?
You have until August 31, 2013, to turn in your donation monies to be eligible for fundraising incentives.
How do I turn in our team money?
All fundraising is calculated on an individual basis. All online donations are automatically tracked. If you are fundraising as a team and have offline donations to submit, either divide the money equally among team members to submit individually, or direct it all to the team captain to submit at one time. Please note it costs the National MS Society less money if you do all your fundraising online.
When sending in money, please include a note listing how you would like the money to be credited. Please note that Event Sponsorship dollars do not count toward fundraising goals.
What if my company wants to match my pledges?
To take part in the Matching Gifts Program, please visit your company's Human Resources department or your Matching Gifts Coordinator and ask for a Matching Gift Form, or visit www.matchinggifts.com to see if your company has a matching-gifts program.
